DIY Water Treatment Systems

Not every water problem requires a custom-designed system — but not every water problem is suitable for DIY either.

The DIY options listed below are contractor-grade systems offered with clear guidelines to help customers determine whether a DIY approach is appropriate for their water. These systems are intended for situations where water quality and installation conditions fall within defined limits.

If your water falls outside those limits, or if you prefer a turnkey solution, professionally designed systems are available..

DIY Eligibility & Water Testing Requirements

DIY water treatment systems are not one-size-fits-all. To ensure proper performance and avoid misapplication, the following guidelines apply to all DIY systems offered on this site.

  • Water testing is required before selecting or installing any treatment system.

  • DIY systems are suitable only when water quality falls within defined limits.

  • Some conditions require custom system design and cannot be addressed with DIY equipment.

Common conditions that may require a professionally designed system include elevated iron or manganese, severe sulfur odor, bacterial contamination, high sediment load, or complex installation constraints.

If you already have recent water test results from a certified source, we can review them. If not, testing and professional review options are available below to help determine the appropriate path forward.

Parts, Filters & Maintenance Supplies

Replacement parts, filters, and routine maintenance items are available through our online store. These include commonly used service parts and consumables for both DIY systems and professionally installed equipment.

This allows customers who prefer to handle routine maintenance themselves to source the correct parts without guesswork.

When a Professional System Makes More Sense

Some water conditions and installation scenarios fall outside the limits of DIY treatment systems. In these cases, a professionally designed solution is often the most reliable and cost-effective long-term option.

Professional systems may be recommended when:

  • Water quality exceeds DIY treatment limits

  • Iron, manganese, or sulfur levels are elevated

  • Bacteria or multiple contaminants are present

  • Flow rates or demand are higher than standard systems support

  • Installation layout or space constraints require custom planning

If your water falls into one of these categories, we offer professionally designed systems tailored to your water quality, usage needs, and installation requirements.
